Himax Application / Use Case – Palm Vein Recognition

Overview

Vein patterns are unique to each individual; even identical twins have different vein patterns. Himax WiseEyeVein Module, powered by Himax ultra-low power WiseEye2 AI processor and image sensor HM1092, is designed to be plug and play from the ground up. Among the modalities of biometric authentications, recognition by palm-veins can perform better than palmprints or fingerprints by 10 times. Because of its uniqueness, and stability, live body identification, palm-vein recognition has been added to Himax’s portfolios with the merits of high accuracy and wide application range. Himax endeavors to bring more effective solutions to tackle real-world problems with contactless identification system based on palm-veins. By adopting the solutions, customers from different sectors have attained safety and convenience with open, innovative secure access control systems.
